Hey friend! My name is Jade Cook and this is a peek at the beautiful life God gave me. I’m half Chinese, a dash of Korean, and a whole lot of fun. If I could describe myself in a few words, I mean, I’d say I’m pretty funny, empathetic, and have a joyful spirit. I am an avid spaghetti lover (seriously, I have eaten it for five meals in a day), I sneak in dairy ice cream when I’m not supposed to (sorry, Kaleb), and I’m all about traveling to new places and creating the biggest and most epic memories.
Now let’s talk about my favorite person I’ve ever met, my husband, Kaleb. We met in October 2018, when he was my Uber driver (I know, the beginning of a great love story, right?). He’s my best friend and the love of my life. Recently, we were blessed with our sweet baby girl, Heaven Mei, who made her grand entrance on November 3rd (Her name and birth story will be shared, don’t worry!). We’ve since moved back to the Pacific Northwest after a few cross-country moves (hello, Texas and Arizona!), and it’s been the best decision ever to be closer to family during this season.
Heaven is the reason I decided to take a leap and start this blog. I knew three things:
1. I’ve always loved to write and share stories as a creative brainy gal (Kaleb can attest to this..)
2. I needed to find a way to spend more time with Heaven rather than staring at a tiny office window and saying “hello” to a place called “work.” My entrepreneurial spirit was calling, and I just knew I’d figure it out.
3. I wanted to make a positive impact in the world and connect with others through my stories. I’ve been through a lot, and I refuse to let those experiences go to waste. I believe every story has purpose!
Here, you’ll get to read about all sorts of things—whether it’s my faith journey, lessons I’m learning, simple and yummy recipes, travel adventures (Spain, Italy, the Midwest, wherever!), or just little life updates. My hope and prayer is that whatever speaks to you adds value to your life. And, let’s be real, please give me grace because this whole blogging thing is new for me *cue the past perfectionism movie reel*.
