We’re ending this month of love with a BANG! (Or should I say… a POP! 🎉)

No, literally—a Cake Pop! insert slow clap here 👏

Story Time: Meet the Cake Pop Queen

My Mama June is basically a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to anything artistic or crafty (which, for the record, I totally inherited the artistic side… just not the craftiness 😅). From calligraphy to fondant cakes, painting windows, and drawing like a pro, she can do it all. (I keep telling her she needs to start a side biz, so stay tuned for that! 👀)

Lately, she’s been on a baking spree—making everything from birthday cakes to custom cookies and now, the ultimate Valentine’s cake pops. She made these for our Galentine’s Day party, and let me tell you… even I, a self-proclaimed non-cake-lover, was obsessed. So naturally, I had to share this with the world.

The Goods – Ingredients:

📌 Cake Mix (She loves super moist boxed cake—this time, dark chocolate & strawberry)
📌 Frosting (She used white, about half a tub for each cake)
📌 Cake Pop Sticks (Available at craft stores or online)
📌 Meltable Chocolate Tabs (She used red & pink for a festive touch)
📌 Optional: Hershey’s Kisses (White Cream Cheese Flavor)—UM, YUM!

The Action – Instructions:

1️⃣ Bake & Crumble – Bake the boxed cake according to package instructions in a sheet pan. Once fully cooled, crumble it into a bowl using your hands and a mixer on low speed.

2️⃣ Mix & Shape – Add frosting and mix until a dough-like texture forms. Roll small portions into balls, then shape into hearts. Place on a cookie sheet and freeze in batches.

3️⃣ Insert Sticks – Melt chocolate and dip one end of each stick before inserting about ¾ into each cake pop. Freeze briefly to set.

4️⃣ Coat in Chocolate – Melt chocolate in short microwave bursts, stirring in vegetable oil if needed for a smooth consistency. Pour chocolate over cake pops, ensuring full coverage.

5️⃣ Decorate & Set – Tap off excess chocolate and place in a stand to dry. Once set, decorate with melted chocolate or icing as desired.

The End Result: Cute, Tasty, & Not Overly Sweet!

What I loved most? The texture. Most cake pops I’ve tried are either rock-hard on the outside or way too sweet. These were soft, perfectly balanced, and just the right amount of sweet! (I even had one of each flavor—which says a lot, considering I don’t usually like chocolate!)

Thinking about making these for your next party?
